I am working as a consultant eye
Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu,
Sabah, Malaysia. I am a graduate and postgraduate from All India
Institute of Medical Sciences, New
Delhi, India.I have obtained M.Med.(Ophthalmology) from National
University of Singapore and I am a fellow of the Royal
College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd).
Hospital Queen Elizabeth
is a tertiary care centre for the whole state of Sabah.
It is situated in the picturesque town of Kota Kinabalu,
the State's capital. It has over 700 beds and is a
postgraduate teaching institution.
I was born and brought up in New Delhi, the capital of India,
a bustling metropolis. A city of about 12 million
population, it is situated on the banks of river Yamuna.
Surrounding areas are the hub of industrial activity of
northern India. A rich history and monuments ensure a
steady flow of tourists.
It is one of the two states
comprising East Malaysia.
Lush green hills of the Crocker range, marshy
lowlands, a large coastline and Mount
Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Southeast Asia
complete the landscape of Sabah. Formerly known as North
Borneo, it was a British colony till its merger in the
federation of Malaysia in 1963.
This is a beautiful country of 21
million friendly people. A lush green landscape of hilly
tropical rain forest from coast to coast, it is
undergoing extensive plantation activity. The recent
currency devaluation has not changed the jovial nature of
these people. My present 'karambhumi'.
